For more than 40 years, Microtech Filters has built a reputation as a trusted UK manufacturer of high-quality, long-lasting and great value filtration products. From its Nottinghamshire headquarters, the company has quietly supported customers across a wide range of industries with bespoke and OEM filtration solutions, continually investing in its manufacturing capabilities to meet growing demand.

In 2026, that journey reached another significant milestone.

Making its debut at FILTECH 2026 in Cologne, Germany – the world's leading filtration exhibition – Microtech Filters stepped onto the global stage for the first time, joining hundreds of exhibitors and welcoming thousands of visitors from across the international filtration industry. More than simply attending another trade show, FILTECH represented the culmination of years of strategic investment and the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the company's continued growth.

Building Momentum

Microtech Filters' appearance at FILTECH was no overnight decision. Following the successful expansion of its manufacturing facility in 2024, which doubled the size of the company's factory to support increasing customer demand, the focus shifted towards ensuring those additional manufacturing capabilities were matched by increased market awareness.

That investment has already delivered strong results. Continued marketing activity, alongside a growing customer base and the securing of significant new long-term supply contracts, has helped drive consistent year-on-year growth.

Having successfully ventured into exhibitions for the first time at the Air Quality & Emissions Expo at Birmingham's NEC in 2024 & 2025, the next logical step was clear.

If Microtech Filters wanted to showcase its capabilities to the global filtration industry, there was only one destination.

FILTECH.

Filtech 2026 Entrance

Recognised as the world's premier exhibition for filtration and separation technology, the event attracts manufacturers, engineers, distributors, researchers and end users from across the globe. For a company looking to increase its international visibility, there is no bigger platform.

A Stand Designed to Stand Out

For its first appearance at FILTECH, Microtech Filters wanted to make an immediate impression.

At five metres by three metres, it was the largest exhibition stand the company had ever commissioned. Rather than opting for a traditional shell scheme, the team invested in a completely bespoke design featuring full LED backlit graphics that illuminated the stand in vibrant orange, green and blue, making it one of the brightest and most eye-catching displays throughout the exhibition hall.

The stand proudly led with one simple message:

UK Filter Manufacturer.

While many of the world's largest filtration companies are based in Germany or China, the message reinforced Microtech Filters' British manufacturing heritage and reflected the quality, reliability and value that have underpinned the business since 1984.

Alongside displays of the company's most popular cylindrical dust and air filters, visitors could explore some of Microtech’s previous work, learn more about Microtech's manufacturing capabilities and discuss bespoke filtration solutions with the team.

The layout itself was carefully considered. One side of the stand provided a professional environment to discuss products, applications and customer requirements, complete with refreshments that proved especially popular during the exceptionally warm weather in Cologne. Existing customers enjoyed stopping by to catch up with the team, while new visitors were welcomed with chilled drinks, sweets and the opportunity to discover more about what Microtech Filters could offer.

At the opposite end of the stand, however, things were deliberately a little less conventional.

Football Brings Filtration Conversations to Life

With FILTECH taking place during the FIFA World Cup 2026, Microtech Filters embraced the occasion with a football-themed stand that quickly became one of the exhibition's talking points.

A branded table football game occupied the front of the stand, attracting visitors throughout the three-day event and creating a lively atmosphere that naturally encouraged conversation. Rather than waiting for attendees to approach with technical questions, the football table provided an easy and enjoyable way to break the ice before discussions turned towards filtration challenges, manufacturing requirements and future opportunities.

The football theme extended throughout the stand.

A LEGO replica of the FIFA World Cup trophy generated constant interest from visitors, particularly after host nation Germany exited the tournament on the opening day of the exhibition. The model sparked countless conversations and added an extra element of fun that helped distinguish Microtech Filters from neighbouring exhibitors.

Meanwhile, hundreds of Microtech Filters branded stress footballs were handed out across the three days. Their popularity exceeded expectations, with every single one finding a new home before the exhibition closed.

What might have seemed like a simple marketing idea proved incredibly effective, as it reflected the company's approachable personality while creating memorable first impressions that encouraged meaningful business conversations.

Hundreds of Conversations from Across the World

Across the three-day exhibition, hundreds of visitors stopped by the Microtech Filters stand. Some simply wanted to discuss the World Cup or challenge colleagues to a game of table football. Others were existing customers, pleased to see Microtech Filters exhibiting on the international stage for the first time.

Most importantly, many were completely new to the business.

Despite manufacturing filters for more than four decades, FILTECH demonstrated that there remains enormous opportunity to introduce Microtech Filters to new international audiences. Visitors from across Europe and beyond were keen to understand the company's manufacturing capabilities, product range and bespoke filtration expertise, reinforcing the value of exhibiting at an event dedicated entirely to the filtration industry.

Filtech Stand Conversations

Unlike previous exhibitions where filtration formed just one part of a wider engineering event, every conversation at FILTECH centred around filtration. That made discussions more focused, more technical and ultimately more valuable, confirming to the Microtech Filters team that this was the right event for them.

Delivering FILTECH the Microtech Way

While visitors experienced a polished and professional exhibition stand, much of the hard work happened behind the scenes.

Rather than relying on third-party logistics companies, Microtech Filters chose to manage the entire project internally.

Every display, product sample, football table, marketing material and exhibition component was carefully packed into the company van before making the journey from Nottinghamshire to Cologne via the Eurotunnel.

Managing customs documentation, transport and exhibition logistics required meticulous planning, but it also allowed the company to retain complete control over the project while delivering the exhibition within budget.

The Microtech Filters Events Team

For a team of just two people to build the stand, manage three full exhibition days and then dismantle and transport everything safely back to the UK was a significant achievement in itself.

It reflected the same practical, hands-on approach that customers have come to expect from Microtech Filters.

Industry Recognition

One of the proudest moments of the week came away from the exhibition hall itself.

Microtech Filters was recognised by Filtration & Separation, one of the industry's most respected publications, as one of the highlights of FILTECH 2026.

For a publication read by customers, manufacturers, engineers, researchers and competitors across the global filtration sector, the recognition represented valuable independent acknowledgement of the impact Microtech Filters had made during its first appearance at the exhibition.

For a debut event, it was an endorsement that exceeded expectations.

Looking Ahead

FILTECH 2026 was far more than Microtech Filters' first international exhibition.

It represented another important step in the company's ongoing journey of growth, investment and increasing international recognition.

For a company that has quietly manufactured high-quality filters in Nottinghamshire for more than four decades, exhibiting just a few stands away from some of the filtration industry's biggest names was symbolic. It demonstrated not only how far Microtech Filters has come, but also where it sees its future.

From expanding its manufacturing facility and securing major new contracts, to confidently exhibiting at FILTECH 2026, Microtech Filters continues to demonstrate that high-quality British manufacturing can compete on the global stage.

The conversations held in Cologne will continue long after the exhibition halls have closed, with new relationships already being developed and opportunities being explored across international markets.

Just as importantly, the event provided invaluable experience that will shape future exhibitions and strengthen Microtech Filters' presence within the global filtration community.

The company's successful debut at FILTECH has laid strong foundations for the future, and with lessons learned, new connections made and confidence gained, Microtech Filters is already looking ahead to returning to Cologne in 2027.

For a business that has spent more than four decades delivering quality filtration solutions, FILTECH 2026 marked not just a successful exhibition, but a statement of intent.

The journey onto the international stage has only just begun.
